Privacy Policy for Screenshot +​

The short version. Screenshot + does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Your screenshots and images never leave your device. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of its own. The only data that leaves your device is what you choose to share yourself, and the purchase information Apple processes when you subscribe.

What the app does

Screenshot + lets you crop, mask, annotate, and style screenshots and images, then copy, save, or share the result. All processing happens on your device. The app does not send your images or any other data to us or to third parties.

 

Information we do not collect

We do not collect, and the app does not transmit, any of the following:

• Your screenshots, images, or anything you draw or write on them

• Your name, email address, contact details, or account information

• Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or location

• Usage analytics, crash reports, or diagnostics gathered by us

The app makes no network connections of its own.

Data the app handles on your device

The following data is used only on your device, only to perform the action you asked for, and is never sent to us.

• Images you open or share into the app: Displayed and edited in the editor. While you edit, the app may keep temporary copies in its private storage to support undo and sharing. These are deleted when the editor closes or the temporary storage is cleared by iOS.

• Photo library: The app asks for add-only access when you tap Save, so it can add the finished image to your photo library. It cannot read, browse, or modify your existing photos.

• Clipboard: When you tap Copy, the finished image is placed on the clipboard. The app never reads from your clipboard.

• Notifications: If you enable Quick Snip, the app posts a local notification on your device that triggers the companion automation in the Shortcuts app. Notifications are generated and delivered on your device only; no push notification service is used.

• Settings and presets: Your editor tabs, presets, and subscription status are stored on your device in the app's own storage, shared between the app and its extensions so they behave the same. This data is not synced to us.

 

Sharing

When you share an image using the share sheet, it goes only to the app or service you pick. That app's or service's own privacy policy applies to what you send it. Screenshot + does not see or record where you share.

 

Subscriptions and purchases

Screenshot + offers an auto-renewable subscription with a free trial. Purchases are made through Apple's App Store using your Apple Account. Apple handles payment, billing, and the personal information involved, under the Apple Privacy Policy.

The app receives only a signed receipt from Apple confirming whether a subscription is active and when it renews or expires. This receipt does not contain your name, payment details, or Apple Account. The app stores the current status on your device so it can unlock the subscription features, including in its extensions.

We do not operate a server that receives purchase information.

 

Shortcuts

The app's Home screen links to two shortcuts hosted on iCloud that set up the optional Quick Snip feature. Opening those links takes you to Apple's Shortcuts app, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy. The shortcuts run on your device and are not monitored by us.

 

Children

Screenshot + is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

 

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Everything the app stores lives on your device: deleting the app removes it. Subscription records are held by Apple and can be managed in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or another region with data-protection laws, the same applies: no personal data is collected, so no processing takes place that would give rise to those rights.

 

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app starts handling data differently, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date at the top will change. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
